Duties: Provides multi-media assistance in the University's library; assists patrons, students, staff and faculty in the library with microform, audio-visuals and electronic media collections usage; inputs data into the library's computer-system; maintains hard drive and electronic equipment; organizes, maintains, and shelves multi-media collections, including DVDs, CDs, Video Cassettes, Records, Microfilm, Microfiche, and other relevant materials; circulates multi-media material to students, staff and faculty in the library; provides guidance in the use of materials, microform, and audio-visual equipment; assists with computer hook-up and some basic training of library patrons in media rooms with the LCD monitors and computer interface; administers a reservation-room calendar for media rooms; maintains and prepares reports, statistics, and logs of activities; maintains department inventory of all hardware and supplies; interprets departmental policies and procedures to patrons, and  performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:   High School Diploma or GED; Two years of employment in the operation of audio-visual or multimedia equipment.

Preferred:   Previous work experience in an academic library environment.                                                                              

Requirements:   Knowledge of the operation and routine maintenance of multi-media equipment; knowledge of word processing, internet, database software and library circulation systems; ability to operate a variety of multi-media equipment and ensure the operational readiness of equipment; ability to troubleshoot, solve minor problems,  perform preventive maintenance and report problems; ability to set up equipment and to ensure  availability of adequate supplies and equipment; ability to assist in the production of programs; ability to follow specific instructions;  and ability to communicate effectively.
