Department:     Financial Aid

Duties:   Facilitates the processing the loan funds to ensure that students receive funding in a timely manner; ensures that accuracy of information; assists students and parents with loan information; contacts students and parents by phone; ensures quality customer service and delivery of student aid to students in person or by telephone; assures compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines; performs routine electronic processes for all loan programs; troubleshoots and resolves student loan problems; assists with completion of reconciliation of loan program; processes reports to assist in the evaluation of loan operations; works closely with other campus offices and outside constituencies to resolve discrepancies and to assists students; assists with preparation of various alternative loan programs; remains current with knowledge and use of financial aid software; and performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:   High School Diploma or GED.  Two(2) years of clerical work experience.

Requirements:   Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment; knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation; skill in Microsoft Office: word, excel and outlook; skill in preparing reports,  skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in performing routine clerical tasks; skill in filing documents; ability to plan and independently perform specialized clerical tasks; ability to understand and interpret department policies and procedures; ability to communicate effectively; ability to follow instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective work  relationships; ability to operate personal computers and assigned word processing and spreadsheet software.
