Department: Office of Residence Life and Housing
Duties: Manages the daily residential front desk operations to ensure the safety and security of students; executes university policies and procedures; prepares and submits necessary reports; monitors student residence buildings; remains at desk unless making rounds; provides timely responses to emergency and crisis situations; exhibits a visible presence in the residence hall and provides assistance to any incident that may arise; interprets policy, rules and regulations of residence halls, e.g., to students, staff and parents; functions as a role model to students and staff by personally observing university and residence hall policies and procedures; screens guests coming into the building; serves as a mediator in resolving conflicts with students; prepares and submits accurate and complete reports and other assignments; maintains close contact with Residence Life staff; attends meetings with staff to discuss issues; attends and participates in staff development training sessions; works 4p.m to midnight or midnight to 8 a.m.; and performs other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED.
Preference: Background in security work.
Requirements: Ability to commit to outstanding customer service practices; ability to work nights and weekends, during university closings, holidays, and events; ability to communicate and interact with staff, students, parents, colleagues, and faculty effectively; ability to remain available in the event of an emergency.
