Department:       University Health Center

DutiesProvides clerical and reception services to students, clinicians and staff of the University Health Center; provides quality customer service; verifies student health insurance coverage via the electronic medical records system; answers telephones and distributes messages to the appropriate party; organizes and maintains office supplies and forms; registers students and explains clinic policy according to University protocols; opens and closes office; manages patient flow by providing access to appropriate clinical  personnel, based on the patient’s complaint; ensures that waiting  and reception areas are kept neat and clean; scans, files, and faxes documents; retrieves patient charts; participates in staff and educational meetings; assists students in completing appropriate forms and documents; receives, sorts and delivers mail; assists medical records staff; performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:     High School Diploma or GED.

Requirements:  Ability to communicate effectively; ability to operate manual and automated office equipment, and keyboards; ability to file documents according to alphabetic and numeric sequences; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to communicate effectively; ability to maintain effective work relationships.
