Department: Office of the Bursar
Duties: Coordinates all aspects of the NDSL program; responsible for the collection and reconciliations of Perkins Loans, Student Accounts, and General Receivables; assists and advises the Bursar in developing tracking methods for outstanding balances; generates new methods for collecting, skip tracing, and updating cashiering stations as well as ensuring their compliance with generally accepted cash management practices and University guidelines; manages the loan programs, oversees loan originations, promissory note production, data transmission, and cash management and reconciliation; coordinating internal awards, external billing & collection efforts; preparing federal aid reports related to NDSL; processes cancellations, adjustments & forbearances; develops strategies to reduce the default rate; conducts outreach sessions on topics including budget counseling and debt management; coordinates default management activities for loans; develops complex collection reports from Banner Student, Banner Finance, and 3i Billing Systems for the Bursars review; monitors E-commerce transactions; monitors monthly projected default rate; performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in loan management or accounts receivables.
Requirements: Knowledge of principles, practices, methodology, and procedures for the provision of student financial aid; skill with the budget process as well as overview of accounts receivable and accounts payable; strong organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively; ability to plan, develop, coordinate, and direct student financial assistance programs and initiatives.
