Department: Student Affairs

Duties: Oversees the operation of the University Health Center (UHC) facility and its attendant policies, procedures, practices, and delivery of health care services; provides overall direction and expertise to the development and delivery of a range of services, programs, and interventions that support quality health care; supervises and evaluates the administration, clinical services, pharmacy, health education, and primary care administration of the University Health Center; hires professional health service personnel to deliver quality health care; establishes communicates, and maintains a departmental vision, through assessment, goal- setting, annual and strategic planning, management of competing priorities, and the effective communication of mission and objectives; maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with community health resources and agencies  to ensure quality, responsive, and efficient service; and performs other duties as required.

Preference: MD (physician) with five years' experience working at a University or other comparable health care setting.

Minimum Qualifications:  A Nurse Practioner (NP) with a minimum of five (5) years' experience at a university health care center or as a senior level health care administrator.

Requirements: Knowledge of program administration; knowledge of budget management; knowledge of recruitment and selection practices for the clinical administration staff; skill in conducting program assessment; skill in business management; ability to develop and update job descriptions; ability to coordinate activity with other departments of the university; ability to provide good customer service; ability to manage a budget; ability to supervise clinical and administrative staff.
