Department:  Earl S. Richardson Library

Duties:  Provides reference and instructional services; manages the government documents collections and all Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) activities and requirements, ensuring the collection is organized according to FDLP requirements; creates and submits monthly and annual reports documenting the "state of the collection"; provides reference and instructional services for Government Printing Office's Online dissemination service (GPO) access; creates Library Guides and other finding aids/tools for departments as a library liaison; works with the Information Literacy Team to produce on-ground and online instruction programs; conducts mini-sessions each semester explaining various library and government documents concepts; keeps detailed reference statistics; attends professional workshops, meetings, conferences, and committee meetings; and performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters of Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program or a related Masters level degree from an accredited College or University. Three (3) years academic reference experience, 2 of which involved working with government documents in an academic research or public library setting.

Preference:  Academic library experience

Requirements:  Knowledge of current trends in government information, digital technology, and electronic resources; knowledge of federal government document processing; knowledge of the latest technology and trends in the field of academic librarianship; skill in performing special research requests; skill in providing information and reference instructional services; skill in performing special research requests; ability to work in a collaborative, service-oriented, rapidly changing environment to accomplish mutual goals; ability to provide excellent customer-service; and ability to communicate effectively.
