Division of International Affairs

Welcome to the Division of International Affairs (DIA), created in 2012 to foster an enabling campus environment that enables our international students can have a remarkable experience and engage in international experiential learning. Our aim is to unify different offices for the expansion of our globalization efforts with specific focus on study abroad, campus and curriculum internationalization, and international student and faculty services.

Morgan State University through the DIA has developed a robust international community consisting of a multiethnic and multiracial student body. As a multicultural educational community, we appreciate and celebrate the differences and similarities of diverse cultures. Thus, we leverage on different resources to offer exclusive experiences where students are provided opportunities to broaden the scope of their knowledge of other languages, cultures, customs, values, norms and above all, international values. Through expert advice, knowledge and support of the DIA staff members, we also engage with our students every day to prepare them to make vital contributions to the world as global citizens, compete in the global economy and be global leaders in their fields.

The last 8 years have seen a significant increase in the participation of students, faculty, and staff in both study abroad, virtual exchange and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). In actualization of goal 6 of Morgan State’s new strategic goals for 2021–2030, the University’s Division of International Affairs has articulated a bold vision to position Morgan as a “Global HBCU” in the next 10 years, bring to fruition MORGAN GLOBAL. Thus, “Growing the Future, Leading the World” is more than a motto for our institution. We wish our students great success in the upcoming academic calendar year. As the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for International Affairs at Morgan State University (MSU), I welcome you to our global community of diversity, integration and inclusivity.
