Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory
Science is a rapidly evolving healthcare profession. Medical Technologists use
theoretical concepts and practical skills to provide clinical information which
is essential for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases. The Medical
Technology curriculum is a four-year, undergraduate, professional program accredited
by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS*)
that prepares students for career entry into clinical laboratory science professions.

Career
opportunities are available in hospitals, industrial or private clinical
laboratories. Medical Technologists are also employed in academic institutions,
research facilities, technical sales and pharmaceutical companies. Qualifications
to any of these positions requires a baccalaureate degree, completion of
an accredited Medical Technology Program and professional certification
by clinical laboratory sciences certification agencies. The bachelor degree
curriculum in Medical Technology is also a basis for graduate degree programs
in clinical laboratory sciences as well as medical and dental schools or
other health related specialties.
