EZPark @ MSU

A great deal of planning, evaluation and financial resources have been invested to enhance University parking and shuttle services. Our goal is to provide reliable, safe, convenient and affordable services for the entire University community, as well as our invited guests and visitors. Effective with the 2007-2008 parking year, significant changes have been made in efforts to make the parking experience EZ! Features of E-Z PARK include:

Gated Parking ~ Advantages

  • Accessible - maximum accessibility and minimum enforcement; controlled access vs open parking
  • Convenient - intercom feature at the entrance gate allows direct communication to the University Police Department for assistance
  • Flexible - E-Z to park secondary vehicle(s); no need to purchase duplicate permits
  • Efficient - quick "in & out" movement; E-Z programming capabilities
  • Secure - provides detailed tracking data, reports and other resourceful information

Requirements:

  • Driver's License
  • Vehicle Registration
  • Fill out Registration Application
  • Pay at the Bursar Office

Bring Receipts marked PAID from Bursar Office to the Business Office D201 Montebello. To get on a waiting list a parking permit must be purchased.

KEY Facts at a Glance

  • All faculty, staff, commuter and student residential lots will be eventually gated, except Lot H (Truth Hall).
  • Day and evening permits will be sold. Day permits are valid from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Evening permits are valid from 4:15 pm to 11:00 pm.
  • With the purchase of a parking permit, you will receive a window permit for your primary car and a hangtag for use with your secondary car(s). There will no longer be a fee for duplicate permits.
  • Your University ID, the Bear Necessity Card (BNC), will function as your gate access card. Once you purchase a parking permit, the BNC card will be activated for use on your assigned lot. You will need the card to enter and exit the parking lot.
  • If you have a valid BNC Card, your card will be electronically activated at the time your permit is issued. If you are renewing by mail, the card will be activated at the time the permit is mailed. You do not need to physically present your card to Parking Services for activation.
  • If your BNC card needs replacing for whatever reason, please visit the BNC Office located at Montebello D128 to obtain a new card. For your convenience and for a limited time, the $25.00 replacement fee will be waived. Remember, you must have a Bear Necessity Card to access the gated parking lot, so please take advantage of this courtesy and arrange to get your card as soon as possible.
  • Simply swipe your card at the gate entrance and enjoy E-Z PARK!
