Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities
Overview
Overview
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities (OSRR) has the primary responsibility to manage and direct the University's efforts in matters involving student conduct.
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities is dedicated to supporting student success by fostering and maintaining an inclusive community culture that is safe, respectful, and accountable. An educational framework is used to address potential violations of our Code of Student Conduct. Student education, accountability, growth, and development is our focus.
We strive to empower student scholars, nurturing them to become honorable global leaders who embody integrity and excellence while creating positive global transformations.
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities details the rights and responsibilities of students, adjudicates disciplinary matters, maximizes learning opportunities, provides training and imposes sanctions in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct.
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities to foster a safe and inclusive environment where our students can learn, develop and grow.
Philosophy
We guide students who have violated the Code of Student Conduct through a restorative process, to accept responsibility and repair any harm caused while attempting to prevent any future harm. This is completed through B.E.A.R. P.R.I.D.E. Our office will continue to Build an Environment of Accountability and Responsibility on Principles of Respect, Integrity, Decency and Ethics by collaborating with students and campus partners to uphold the University's core values. With this approach, we use proactive engagement to educate students, faculty and staff of the Code and expectations regarding student conduct. When students have B.E.A.R. P.R.I.D.E. incidents of misconduct decrease, because students understand the tremendous opportunity they have been given to attend the National Treasure that is Morgan State University.
