Department of World Languages & International Studies
The Department of World Languages and International Studies truly responds to national and international needs. Language is the key to mutual understanding among nations. The Department is structured to provide all students with valuable and useful linguistic tools. We offer collateral cultural training, which can be used as a necessary skill in business, public administration, teaching, translation, interpretation, and international relations.
The Department offers minors and certificates of proficiency in French and Spanish, and courses in the following languages:
General Courses
These are general courses that are useful for a variety of languages.
African Languages
African Languages recently taught at Morgan State include Swahili and Yoruba.
Arabic
Arabic is offered at the elementary and intermediate levels.
Chinese
Mandarin Chinese is offered at the elementary level.
French
The department offers a minor and certificate of proficiency in French.
German
German is offered at the elementary and intermediate levels.
Italian
Italian is offered at the elementary and intermediate levels
Japanese
Japanese is offered at the elementary level.
Latin
